Improv Cincinnati’s Summer Bucket List

summer.bucket.jpg

Ahhhh, summer. Sunshine 15 hours a day. Driving around town with the windows down and sunglasses on. New music. Plenty of things to do. The list goes on and on … that’s why we asked our fellow students, performers, volunteers and friends of Improv Cincinnati to share their must-dos, must-listens, must-sees, and must-experiences for this summer, before we blink and it’s gone!

Chances are, something will pique your interest. Be sure to add these to your list for Summer 2018:

“MUST-DO”s

  • At least one Reds game and one FC Cincinnati game - Erica, Level 3 student and IC stage manager
  • Brandemonium or an FC Cincinnati game. - Ryan Slicer, Level 2 student

  • Reds baseball game. I try to do at least one a summer - Tatiana, IC company member, teacher, performer in Hot Mic!
  • Shop at a Cincy Farmers Market - support local farmers and help the environment! You'll find me at the Northside Farmers Market most Wednesdays... - Jon, IC Co-Founder

  • Walking along the river. Favorite places to do this are the bottom of Smale Riverfront Park and Bicentennial Commons at Sawyer Point - Tatiana, IC company member, teacher, performer in Hot Mic!

MUST-SEES

  • Ant-Man and The Wasp” and “The Spy Who Dumped Me” - Deserae, Level 4 student
  • "Shaolin Soccer" (yeah it came out in 2001, but the World Cup is on!) - Sasha, Level 5 (The Harold) student, performer in Veracity
  • The Incredibles 2” (I already saw it, but it was pretty great.) - Sydney, IC student, volunteer
  • Tone, IC company member, performer in Hot Mic! Sharing his summer bucket list or BAD Superhero movies:
    • Captain America” (1990). Before the MCU, Marvel tried, for years, to bring their characters to life. This awful version of Cap’s story features Red Skull, who is trying to kidnap the President. 12 stars out of 100.
    • The Punisher” (1989) The first screen version of Frank Castle starring our favorite Russian boxer, Dolph Lundgren. He fights the Japanese mob and bad hair. 34 bullets out of 50
    • The Fantastic Four” (1994) Roger Corman tried to bring this to life and failed miserably. There is no final, theatrical version, but you can catch clips on YouTube. Also, The Thing looks like a poop monster. 0 out of 0.
  • "Won't You Be My Neighbor," a documentary about an incredibly exemplary individual and an incredibly unique television show that became a cultural institution. The world needs more people like Fred Rogers. - Jon, IC Co-Founder
