What can I expect inside Clifton Comedy Theatre
CCT is an intimate, 50-seat, subterranean, black box theater with open seating. If you buy tickets in advance, your name will be on a will-call list at the door.

When are shows?
Shows are almost always at 8:00pm and 9:30pm. Double check our show page before you arrive.

How early can I arrive before a show starts?
Typically there are two shows on a show night. You can arrive up to 30 minutes before the first show, and up to 15 minutes before the second show. We recommend arriving early because we don’t have a lobby area; late arrivals will disrupt the show.

What is an All Evening Pass?
Most show nights feature two shows. If you purchase an All Evening Pass, you can see both the early show and late show for less money than if you bought the tickets individually.

Is there any advantage to buying online instead of at the door?
Yes, you'll save a little bit of cash! And many of our shows sell out by the time our theater doors open.

Can I bring my whole family?
We don’t make any promises, but typically our shows would be rated PG-13. Shows that are family friendly (like Comedysportz) will be labeled as such in the description.

What's the parking situation?
There is metered parking all over Ludlow Ave and some residential parking on the side streets. Many of our guests park at US Bank (after banking hours), and to the best of our knowledge, nobody has ever been towed.

Are food and drink available?
We provide free, non-alcoholic refreshments and candy. Donations are not required, but are always welcome and appreciated! They can be made in the form of cash or credit card at our shows, or via Venmo at any time (@Improv-Cincinnati).

How are my donations used?
Your donations support our diversity scholarship, which provides tuition assistance to students who take classes at our academy. You can make a donation in the form of cash or credit card at our shows, or via Venmo at any time (@Improv-Cincinnati).

What's your COVID policy?
Masks are no longer required, though we hope everyone is vaccinated!

Can you accommodate groups?
Certainly. Call us at 513.900.1110 and let's chat.

Is the theater ADA accessible?
Unfortunately not at this time.

I think I found the correct place on Google maps, but it looks like an apartment building?
Yeah that's weird, but it's definitely us. When you get here, look for the Improv Cincinnati awning and staircase. We’re down the steps.

Do you accept cash?
Yes.

Do you have Improv Cincinnati merchandise available?
We have a limited supply. You can purchase customized Improv Cincinnati merch at our new web store.

What is the difference between improv, sketch, and stand-up comedy?
Improv is a style of performance where performers get a suggestion from the audience and use that suggestion to inspire the performance. It's funny theater without a script. Sketch is a short, scripted skit like what you see on Saturday Night Live. Stand-up is where a single comedian tells pre-written jokes at a microphone. At Clifton Comedy Theatre, improv is our bread and butter (and jam!), and we occasionally do shows that feature sketch and stand-up.

How interactive are Improv Cincinnati shows?
Performers will ask the audience for suggestions to inspire their improv performances. The spirit of improv is always to be laughing with the audience, rather than at them. It's not like stand-up, where comedians occasionally pick on audience members. On a related note, heckling performers is not welcome in improv.
